I decided to open the blog module back up for the Truth Alliance administrators in hopes that it will facilitate better communication between us and the community. There are a few new features that I have been adding and testing so here's the low down!
New Archiving structure.
Part of the vision for TruthAlliance.net is to have a very in depth archive system in place for chronicling the crimes of the elite and their new world order. Of course there are many types of information and data that must be archived and it must be in an organized fashion so that new people can easily learn and understand who and what are perpetuating these crimes. So news articles, images and videos are the main items to archive. Then through the Truth Alliance Archive (currently called the AEON database) which is a wiki, we can use the news articles, images and videos to build a case. After archiving tons of NWO related info, we can as a community author dossier on various false flag events and criminal politicians who sell out their country for their own elite network's gain. Evidence, evidence, evidence is the name of the game. So archiving info and compiling it is key to building a case against these criminals and their networks.
New Video Archive
This is one of the most difficult types of data to archive and make available to everyone because of the vast amount of storage space and bandwidth required. No one person or even small business can afford to pay for the type of video traffic that some of the major video web sites receives. To give you an example of the costs of providing video to your users we'll use the prices provided by one of the largest and most cost effective content distribution networks (CDN) out there, Amazon S3. When a video goes viral it can get 100,000 to 4 million views, now imagine having thousands of video getting that many views. No one other than YouTube/Google can afford that because they have their own private, dedicated CDN's. But we know we cannot rely on YouTube to archive our patriot videos, because they are subject to censorship and deletion at any time. So we must have our own reliable alternative. Here's the numbers:
If you have a video that is 5 minutes in length and using the latest flash/H.264 video encoder it averages about 10 mb's in size. If you buy bulk bandwidth from a CDN you can get it for about $ .10 per GB of data transfer. That means your 5 minute video can be viewed 100 times for only about 10 cents. If you extrapolate that out it equates to about $1,000 for every 1 million views. And this only includes the cost of people viewing the video. You still have to pay for data storage on the CDN. For just 30 small videos here's the cost breakdown:
30 five minute videos which receive 500,000 views each = $15,000 in bandwidth costs
So what all this means is that we (TruthAlliance.net) are approaching video archiving very carefully since we have no funding whatsoever, all the costs of monthly operations come out of the co-creators already thin pockets. However thankfully our new video archive system has a way to piggy back off of YouTube and Googles' bandwidth, which we will utilize while also integrating some of our own video serving capabilities and testing bandwidth needs and costs. Our system allows us to add a YouTube video to the database, that video is then duplicated and saved on a backup server. The video is then streamed via YouTube. As TruthAlliance becomes more self sustaining financially and if YouTube gets even more aggressive in censorship, we can easily make the switch to serving all of our videos ourselves without even missing a beat since a copy of every video is automatically made and stored. With the flexibility of this system we can add any and all informative videos to the database and then comment on them, add tags and embed them anywhere else, and include them in the pertinent wiki pages. And at any time we can serve a video off of our server, it could be 1 video or 2 or 3, or we could serve 20% of the videos ourselves and the other 80% from YouTube. And at any time and very quickly we can convert to serving 80% ourselves and 20% from YouTube or even serving 100% of our videos ourselves. But for as long as possible the goal would be to use YouTube's bandwidth until that is no longer a viable option (due to censorship), and hopefully by that time TruthAlliance will be in the position to pick up the reigns, a very lofty goal indeed..! But at least this way it will only take a flip of the switch and not a single video will be lost.
Here's the reason this system makes the best sense. Out there in the Patriot community you have a user that uploads a great video to YouTube. Then you have 500 people that grab that video embed code off that users YouTube page and then syndicate that video on their own patriot web site for their viewers to see. So now you have 500 web sites with that video on it. But then YouTube decides to delete that users account and now you have 500 web sites with a bunk video on them and no one can see that video anymore. With our system, if someone uses our embed code they will actually be utilizing YouTube's bandwidth, if YouTube deletes that video off their server then our system can revert to our own server to serve out the video and every web site that embeded the video via our embed code won't even notice any down time on the video. At any time we can re-upload the video to YouTube or any other big video hosting site and the video's bandwidth will revert back to streaming from the big video host. Or we can just keep it streaming from our server and our CDN if it's a video that YouTube really doesn't like and keeps deleting.
So that is the basics of our archive system, but it will take the community to make it a viable option.
