Clinton's demand that Russia place stirct sanctions on Syria is met with total refusal by Russian leaders at APEC

Haaretz quotes Sec. Clinton while she was attending APEC that convened in Russia a day ago threatening Russia with increased support for the al-Qaeda mercenary fighters.
"A day after Russia soundly rejected her call for UN sanctions to be imposed on Syria if Assad refuses to stop fighting and relinquish power, Clinton said she was "realistic" in her approach. She said that if the Russians refused to go along the United States and its friends would boost their support for the Syrian opposition."
We remember back to July when Clinton said, "Russia and China will pay" for their support of Syria and Assad, well it looks like she got to say that to his face.
The Syrian opposition have been proven to be al-Qaeda aligned mercenary fighters, that are being given, shoulder mounted rockets and told to target civilian aircrafts. This is the opposition fighters Clinton is referring to and Vladimir Putin is very aware of who she means.
What she didn't say is deals have already been struck and they are doing that already with Saudi Arabia, to the tune of 5,000 new troops in addition to 1000's already inside large cities like Damascus.
These commanding officers are admittedly some of the most anti-American forces in the region. So much so they have decade long rap sheets and associated with multiple attacks on American forces. National Post reports that one such al-Qaeda commander has fought against American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan for TEN Years!
"In a speech delivered to a crowd protesting outside the prime minister’s office in Amman, Mohammad al-Shalabi, better known as Abu Sayyaf, told Assad that “our fighters are coming to get you.”
Abu Sayyaf is the head of the Salafi Jihadi group, which produced several al-Qaeda linked militants who fought U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past 10 years. They are also blamed for the 2002 assassination of U.S. aid worker Laurence Foley outside his Amman home.
The militant leader was himself convicted in 2004 of plotting attacks on Jordanian air bases hosting American trainers, but served his term and was released last year."
The reality of the situation is that Russian and China are funding one side of a civil war while the US and NATO alliance forces are providing the support for the opposition fighters made up of al- Qaeda mercenaries.
Russian and China have many strategic economic ties with Syria, and refused unilateral sanctions on Syria knowing full well that it would harm them financially let alone strategically allowing further encroachment by western forces in the region.
What is sad is the vast majority of casualties in this civil war are civilians in the urban environments these clashes with Assad and Rebel forces have occurred. They are the ones who pay as the superpowers via for regional control.
