A stunning 90-second video of Turkey’s protests
| Washington Post | Protesters and riot police are clashing for a second day in Istanbul, after Friday’s demonstrations injured 1,000 people, according to a Turkish doctors’ association, apparently intensifying the already deep outrage against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government. The protests started over the government’s plan to turn a park into a mall but have since, according to the New York Times, “become a broad rebuke to the 10-year leadership of Mr. Erdogan and his Islamist-rooted Justice and Development Party, which the protesters say has adopted authoritarian tactics.”

Totaling $7.5 million over three years, the grant will be used to establish the ADL Global Anti-Semitism Index, a significant annual barometer of anti-Semitic attitudes around the world. 'Gun control': The 'gateway tyranny'
| Examiner.com | Marijuana is often referred to as the "gateway drug"--the first illicit drug that any drug user tries--not particularly harmful in and of itself, but once a person has become a drug user, then moving on to stronger, more dangerous drugs, the theory goes, becomes much easier. Evaluating that theory is beyond the scope of this article, but it occurs to me that there is a kind of parallel in the passage of liberty-crushing laws.

The Real Meaning of President Obama’s National Security Speeches
| The Ron Paul Institute | This past Thursday and Friday, President Obama delivered two speeches designed to outline his new thinking on national security and counter-terrorism. While much was made in the media of the president’s statements at the National Defense University and the US Naval Academy suggesting that the most active phase of US military action overseas was coming to an end, this “new” approach is but the same old policy wrapped in new packaging. In these addresses, the president panders to the progressives, while continually expanding and solidifying the "enabling act” principle.

White House Freaks Out Over Online Petition To Charge Sen. Feinstein With Treason Reaching 50,000 Votes
| Mr. Conservative | Forcing team Obama to come to Di Fi’s defense. One of the somewhat silly things that team Obama did when it came to office was to set up a website where Americans could float petitions filled with ideas and issues that they want Obama to address. Now, in theory this idea sounds great. But in practice, Obama just ignores all these things. But they do offer an interesting story from time to time. A recent petition offers one of those stories. It is the petition to charge California Senator Dianne Feinstein with treason for her constant attacks on the U.S. Constitution, the Second Amendment in particular.

Judge: FBI Doesn't Need a Warrant to Access Google Customer Data
| The Atlantic | In what looks very much like a blow to that whole Constitutional thing about due process, a federal judge has ordered Google to release customer data to the FBI, despite the fact that the FBI has no warrant for the information. The FBI made its request via 19 "National Security Letters." Here's CNET with a short explainer on what National Security Letters are:

Can One Imagine Will Travis And Davy Crockett Surrendering Their Guns?
| ChuckBaldwinLive.com | Pressing events in the country, namely, Barack Obama and Dianne Feinstein’s attempted gun confiscation proposals, made it necessary for me to devote my column to specifically addressing that issue. Accordingly, the anniversary of the fall of the Alamo passed without my annual tribute. I will rectify that with today’s column. Plus, the story of the Alamo only augments the need for strict adherence to the Second Amendment and the rejection of Obama and Feinstein’s Machiavellian gun-control measures.

Japan cancels U.S. wheat order on GMO fear: report
| Market Watch | Japanese authorities have canceled a tender offer to buy wheat from the U.S., after unapproved genetically modified wheat was found in an Oregon field, Reuters reported on Thursday. Other major wheat importers South Korea, China and the Philippines also said they were monitoring the situation, after the find stirred concerns that the modified wheat could have made it to the marketplace, the report said
