From crude bombings to cyber recruitment Al-Qaeda is ever evolving

In a recent speech to the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Joseph Lieberman informed us that Al-Qaeda has now evolved from cave dwelling religious zealots to sophisticated army of cyber hackers, capable of recruiting the new version of blond hair blue eyed Al-Qaeda terrorists.

"Terrorists, whom some dismiss as people living in caves, are as sophisticated in their communication abilities today as most members of 'Generation Y,'" said committee Chairman Joseph Lieberman, a Connecticut independent.

"America is now vulnerable not just to attacks plotted by terrorists oceans away, as was the case with 9/11, but also to terrorism conceived within our own borders," Lieberman said.

The committee report -- "Violent Islamist Extremism, the Internet, and the Homegrown Terrorist Threat" -- is part of the panel's investigation into Islamic extremism and "home-grown terrorism."

So our senate and Bills like H.R. 1955 are essentially telling agencies like the FBI, C.I.A., D.O.D, law enforcement to look for anyone fitting the description of anyone! Literally anyone could be a potential terrorist threat.

With in a span of say 15 years, the Al-Qaeda specter has pulled off a number of successful strikes, the U.S.S cole, U.S. Embassy bombings, 9/11, 7/7 bombings. Their leader Osama Bin Laden has evaded detection from all of the combined western intelligence and military apparatus, and is now recruiting our young men and women over the internet. Is there nothing they can’t do?

This Al-Qaeda story of transformation from fringe religious extremist cave dwellers, to you and me the average joe-american is largely thanks to our own Government and not Al-Qaeda. Though Al-Qaeda has been bestowed with an untold amount of legendary abilities, and unlimited resources by our media and government.

There is no end to the Al-Qaeda magic, but the ability to recruit blond hair blue eyed among our congressman and senators to pass a myriad of legislation abolishing American rights to speech and privacy, funding and training law enforcement to oppress the public through tazers and intimidation, and turning the weight of the military industrial complex in on the American people has by far been the grandest ,most sophisticated operation carried out to date by Al-Qaeda terrorists.
